Bleeding Disorders Clinic

The Bleeding Disorders Clinic houses the South Dakota Center for Blood Disorders and is located within Sanford Children’s Specialty Clinic. The clinic offers wide-ranging evaluation, along with treatment and long term follow up and care for bleeding and clotting disorders. The team consists of hematologist Michael Sprehe, MD, MPH , a nurse specializing in blood disorders, a physical therapist, a genetic counselor, social worker and other medical and supportive services. Illnesses Cared For Include: • hemophilia This clinic also receives support from federal agencies such as Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. The National Hemophilia Foundation, a not-for-profit organization and its branch Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota and the Dakotas, help organize yearly family retreats in Minnesota and the Dakotas.
