Approximately 750 children receive sedation services each year at Sanford Children’s Hospital. This service is provided not only for children who are patients in the hospital but also for those children who are having the tests done as outpatients. Our on-site, pediatric critical care physicians are able to provide conscious sedation services to kids who are in the hospital or visiting for a procedure. By tailoring the amount of sedation necessary for children to their individual circumstances, our pediatric critical care physicians minimize the trauma, risk and discomfort often associated with children’s undergoing procedures. Working closely with specially trained pediatric staff and referring physicians, this team of Fellowship Trained and Board Certified pediatric intensive care physicians includes Joseph Segeleon, MD, Wyc Cheatham, MD, and Didima Mon-Sprehe, MD .
