Family Ties – videophones that are available for families to use while their baby is in the NICU. It is especially helpful for siblings who cannot visit their baby brother or sister in the hospital.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Staffed by physicians called Intensivists who complete a three-year fellowship in pediatric critical care.
- Region's only comprehensive facility for the care of critically ill or injured children.
Pediatric Unit
- The unit is staffed by pediatricians, pediatric sub-specialists and medical professionals including: nurse case managers, pediatric-trained therapists, dieticians, a diabetes nurse educator, clinical pharmacist, social workers, nurses, child life specialists and an in-house teacher.
- A specialized pediatric transport team consists of a PICU nurse, respiratory therapist and paramedic.
