The Birth Place
Our birthing and family suites provide beautiful homelike environments equipped with bassinets, whirlpools, entertainment centers and sleeping couches. The Birth Place provides family visitation, privacy and infant security.

Lactation Services
Breastfeeding support is provided throughout a woman’s pregnancy and childbirth experience. Board Certified Lactation Consultants and staff specially trained in breastfeeding are available during a woman’s hospital stay to assist her. After a mom and baby leave the hospital, Lactation Consultants continue to provide support through the Breastfeeding Assistance Program.

Family Follow-up Opportunities
Programs continue after hospital discharge to provide care and support. Great Beginnings is a follow-up clinic for a mother and baby that offers assessments care and support. The Breastfeeding Assistance Program provides support and guidance for mom in her breastfeeding challenges. The Infant Hearing Screening Follow-up helps babies receive a free hearing screening during their hospital stay. If required, follow-up screenings are offered.

Infant Loss Support Program
Sanford Health Women’s offers emotional care and support as well as resources and referrals for grieving families. Ongoing support groups are available to families to help them adjust to their loss.

Out of the Blues
This support group is designed for women who are experiencing the "Baby Blues" or postpartum depression. This support group's topics include:

 
  • A discussion on postpartum depression causes and symptoms
  • Coping mechanisms
  • Communication
  • Support systems
  • Role transition after pregnancy

    New Baby & Me
    This weekly discussion group for new moms includes questions and discussion topics such as "Why does my baby cry so much?" "How do I adjust to this new role of being a mom?" "How can I get anything done?" "How will I know if my baby is sick?" "How long should I breastfeed?" and more.

    Plan to attend "New Baby and Me" to discuss these and other issues and concerns you may have. DON'T forget to bring your baby!

    Papa Pager
    Sanford Health is proud to offer our expactant fathers/significant others an exciting free service. The Papa Pager will enable families to keep in touch during this special time. The person carrying the pager can be reasched within a 15-mile range of Sanford Health at anytime promptly and accurately. Papa Pagers are offered exclusively by the Women's Resource Center at Sanford Health.
